Embedded & HMI
Touch interfaces for machines, devices and control panels. Yocto and Boot2Qt images, fast boot, hardware-accelerated graphics on ARM and x86 boards.
Qt · QML · Modern C++
Restream Development is a Qt engineering studio. We design and build embedded HMIs, desktop tools and mobile apps from one fast, native C++ codebase.
One codebase. Every target you ship to.
Services
Touch interfaces for machines, devices and control panels. Yocto and Boot2Qt images, fast boot, hardware-accelerated graphics on ARM and x86 boards.
Professional tools for Windows, macOS and Linux: complex editors, data-heavy dashboards, device configurators and installers that feel native everywhere.
iOS and Android apps written in QML and C++ — or your existing desktop app brought to phones and tablets with minimal changes.
Interfaces designed for the device they live on: glove-friendly touch, sunlight readability, smooth 60 FPS animation and design systems your team can extend.
Qt 5 → Qt 6, qmake → CMake, Widgets → QML, MFC or legacy toolkits → Qt. Incremental plans that keep your product shipping throughout.
Slow startup, janky scrolling, memory growth, crashes in the field? We profile, find the root cause and fix it — then leave you with a clear report.
Why Restream
Qt gives you a single C++ codebase that compiles to fast native binaries for every platform. We know where its sharp edges are — so your team doesn't have to find them the hard way.
Talk to an engineer →The people you talk to are the people writing your code. No hand-offs to juniors, no account-manager layer.
Clean architecture, unit and UI tests, CI pipelines and documentation — code your in-house team can own after launch.
Short iterations, working builds every week and direct access to the repository and task tracker.
We work close to the metal: drivers, serial and CAN buses, Modbus, BLE, GPU constraints and boot time budgets.
Industries
Machine HMIs, SCADA clients, PLC and Modbus / OPC UA integration.
Operator interfaces and companion apps built with traceability in mind.
Instrument clusters, infotainment and in-vehicle diagnostic tools.
Touch panels, home appliances and their mobile control apps.
Video players, capture and broadcast tools with GStreamer and FFmpeg.
Real-time plotting, instrument control and lab data acquisition.
Process
We dig into your goals, hardware and constraints, then return a scope, architecture and estimate.
A clickable UI running on real target hardware within weeks — so decisions are made on facts.
Iterative development with weekly builds, automated tests and CI for every platform.
Release, OTA updates, field diagnostics and long-term maintenance — or a smooth hand-over to your team.

How we work together
A clearly defined product or feature delivered end-to-end for an agreed price and timeline.
Qt engineers working as part of your team, on your roadmap, for as long as you need.
Architecture review, performance investigation or a migration plan — short and focused.
FAQ
Yes. We start with a short audit to understand the architecture, build system and weak spots, then either continue development or stabilise the code first — whichever gets you to a reliable release faster.
Either works. For common boards (Raspberry Pi, NXP i.MX, x86 panel PCs) we have our own targets. For custom hardware we typically ask for a couple of units, or work remotely through your lab setup.
It depends on the modules you use and how you distribute the product. We'll help you understand the LGPL obligations versus a commercial licence, and structure the project accordingly. (We're engineers, not lawyers — final decisions should involve your legal team.)
Qt 5.15 open-source support has ended, and Qt 6 brings a new graphics architecture, CMake-first builds and ongoing platform updates. We'll estimate the effort and plan an incremental migration that doesn't block your releases.
Usually within one to two weeks after we agree on scope. Discovery calls can happen this week.
Of course — send yours over, or we can provide ours before any details are shared.
